ot warm weather?

I am sure everyone is getting pretty sick of the cold, bad weather. In my junk e-mail this morning was an ad for JC Penney. They want to sell, of all things, swimsuits! So spring must be just around the corner. I hope I can be as hopeful as they are! Won't be long until we are griping about the heat. Taria

I usually swim all year round. I get really annoyed if a swimsuit dies in November and the only replacements I can find are those horrifically expensive Speedo things that look like a collection of holes held together with elastic bands and are made for skinny fit people no more than 19 years old!

Those are for the lucky folks who take cruises this time of year! The only cruising I get in this frigid north is walking out to the garage to plug the block heater into my car.....: ) Donna

The JC Penny at our local mall has had their swimsuits out since before Christmas....

When we lived in Phoenix, just about the time of summer that the humidity and temperature both climbed to triple digits, the stores suddenly filled with wool and down. When I was looking for a new pair of shorts, all I could find were parkas. Retail works on a bizarre schedule that has nothing to do with the calendar, the season or human reason.

Howdy!

No, I'm not sick of our cold weather. Cold doesn't stick for long in north Texas (it's the summers that are hateful). You know how the magazines come out w/ "fashions for fall" in July? And they show those damn' sweaters? Good night nurse! That's a killer, here. (I don't own any sweaters... or skirts ). So, those in the far-west and southwest who have the warmer temps now: good for you... keep 'em. I need some winter in my seasons. No, I don't envy the 20*-below-zero (had that in my youth); but winter is supposed to be cool, or even cold- cold enough to really enjoy the quilts. ;-P The Winter Texans are down south, and likely to stay there a few more months; they are welcome to that, too; keep it down there, in the tropics. I'll think about putting on some long sleeves, and get back to handquilting; that's warm enough. LOL

Cheers! R/Sandy - "summer is highly over-rated"

I would rather the cold than the temperature Australia is having at the moment, especially South Australia and Victoria - 42C and 43C - not liking our Summer at all.

Some of us swim or do water aerobics all year round. Actually, I probably do more in the pool (indoor, of course) in the winter than in the summer. In the summer, I'm more likely to be outside on my bike.

Kate, that's the funniest description for a swinsuit I've ever heard - love it!

Yes, I need the warm weather now.

We were at Costco on Saturday, temp. was 23* F. with 7 to12 mph winds. Inside the store they had bathing suits on display! I was not thinking of going swimming, neither were any of the other shoppers.

Now on an other note, in July when I may want to buy a bathing suit there won't be any to be found.

Which makes me think of the DMIL and her friends at the retirement community, they swim and exercise all year round in the community pool. Some of them needed to replace their attire last year in September. All they could find in sporting goods were Speedos, you get the picture!
