OT: Well, Hello, Dolly!

Once again we are proving that you can throw a Cat 2 hurricane at the Texas coast and not get a drop of anything in Aggieland (College Station). Brownsville and Corpus Christi are getting a lot of rain. It's raining in Beaumont (TX), New Orleans, and Tallahassee, for pity's sake, but nothing for us. There even some showers that have formed inland, between us and Waco--but we're getting lots of sunshine.

Sigh. We're keeping the folks in S Texas in our thoughts and prayers, because there will be flooding and homes damaged and power outages, but I can't help wishing we'd at least get a good soaking. We're about 7" behind on rain since the start of June.

Dolly has stormed all the way around the coast to Mississippi; probably even gave AL and FL a splash. Hard to imagine that College Station didn't even get a nice shower. Didn't last long - all our feathered friends are nice and clean and yelling for food. Polly

I empathize. We're just south of Austin. I watered the plants, did everything I know not to hex her into not coming. So far the skies are playing with us--sun one moment (currently 93 degrees), clouds the next. The stock tanks have dried up and we're in a severe drought, again. Good ol' Texas. I love everything about this state except the weather!

Prayers to the folks down south, too. If you get more than you need, send it on northeast, please!

tis raining in Houston! just started. will try to push some of this up to you Monique! it started right when i needed to go to buy more mortar and grout for the bathroom remodel lol guess the girls can share DS's bathroom for a few more days.

Is Carolyn still in Harlingen (sp?) anyone else way down there? I know they need rain, but it certainly would be better 2" at a time. Hope the ground can soak some of this up really fast so it does them some good. Hope everyone stays safe.
