how do you do that, again?

I know this has been asked and answered in the past, but I can't remember the answer so can somebody help me out again? You know how you can cut a slit in your LO page protector for folded items...i.e., cards, etc? Well, I'm going to have to do that for many LOs on this memory album for my parents so I'm really needing some instructions here. LOL (Teach me to not pay attention in RCS class!) I know I don't want to cut the slit until I have the LO finished, but what do I use to protect the item going through the slit? Once I have the item protected on the outside of the page protector, how do I keep it that way? I hope I'm making sense and not babbling. :-)

Also, (see, I just can't keep it to one thing, can I?)....I need some way to be able to include multiple 8 1/2 x 11 papers in some LOs. For example, I've got a couple little "histories" to include in a LO. (This one LO I'm talking about is going to wind up being 3 - 4 pages long! YIKES!) Anyways, these 2 histories are both printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and I'm HOPING they're acid free because I didn't print them. One history is 4 pages, the other 3 pages. I really want to include them, but I'm back to how the heck do I do this when I'm using 12 x 12 page protectors? The only idea going through my head so far is to put the histories in 8 1/2 x 11 page proctectors, cut a slit in the 12 x 12 LO protector and slide them through. But how do I make sure the smaller page protectors don't come off the LO?

Help me out here ladies and gents. I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall with this memory album, but I am determined to get it done!

Can you mount your 8 1/2 x11 pages of history on a 12 X 12 paper and embellish the edges. Peggy from NJ

Mount each 8 1/2 x 11 on a seperate 12 x 12 page? That would work, but I would end up using 7 12 x 12 sheets. A 7+ page LO, that would be a record, wouldn't it? :-)

I just cut a slit, or cut around an item if it is a fold out very carefully with my craft knife. If you are afraid of cutting your page, you could stick a small cutting mat or piece of cardbord in between the page and the protector while you cut.

Could you scan the 8 1/2 x 11 pages and print them smaller to use on your LO or would they be too small to read?

I think I saw Dave use a vaccum sealer thing to seal the edges actually........

I've done 6 page layouts with panarama sleeves. Can they become multiple related layouts? Maybe I'm not understanding what you are doing. Peggy in NJ

No, I think I misunderstood. (Just call me clueless.) I've never done panarama sleeves, so that's probably why I misunderstood. In fact, I've never seen a LO with panarma sleeves. Can you explain it or better yet, point me to a website with pics?

One history is 3 pages, and the other 4 pages. One covers the early-early history of a church my Dad pastored and the other covers the time Dad was the pastor. So one is decades earlier than the other, which means I really want both in this album. I'm not sure how readable they'll be after shrinking. Good idea though! I might just try it out to see if it would help.

I was just looking at the kinetic scrapbooking site and thought that they might have a solution for what you need to do. Here is the info again if you want to take a look at what they have.

I found this in the Woman's Day Scrapbooking magazine that I bought a few days ago and thought I would share. Use this link

The Photo Flipper would be perfect, but I didn't see it in an 8 1/2 x 11 size. Kinetic has lots of cool stuff though! I like the wire thingy they have, and Bloomin' Photo, and the Photo Flipper. Too bad the only LSS in AR with Kinetics is in Fayetteville....bummer!

site has the fold out, panaramic page protectors. I'm not good atexplaining something like this but if you look at it my explanation might makesense. When you have two of these page protectors facing each other--when closed youcan have a two page layout but when you open them it gives you another spacefor a 4 page layout. Also you have a page facing the previous page and onefacing the next page. 8 pages in all but six of them can be used together fora related long layout.I have used them to put all of a b'day party together, to create a giant layoutof my grandson's first time to show his horse in liberty, etc., places whereyou have a lot of related pictures that you want to keep together. I hope you understand this explaination. I'm not sure I would if I read it back.

Now I understand! (I can really be dense some times.) That might actually work! I will definately take it under serious consideration. Thanks Peggy!

I take those pvc, acid free, photo safe sleeves that come in a packet anywhere nad cut them to size to fit what I am putting in them. I then have a food saver that has a hot edge that melts the plastic edge together. I put my cut folder with the article in it, seal the edge(s) and VOILA!! A pretty sealed item. I seal all newspaper clippings and other ephameria the same way that it does not touch my page or pix.

I then take a doble sided tape and adhere it to my page and if it is a "flipup" to the top of my page protector. I also have secured them to my page near the edge, then cut the protector so that t will flip up then.

It's difficult fitting a pedigree (family tree) in 11x17 -- forget it on

8.5x11. Had them in my albums w/o protectors, but now I can protect those, too.

Thanks, Peggy!
