I am sitting here machine quilting my tumbler quilt. You all helped me with ideas for colors and threads along the way. As I stitch through all the patches of colored fabric memories are all around me. Fabric that is in my DWR I made when I married over 30 years ago, Bits from many of the dresses and shirts I made for my kids and nieces. Bits of backing from a couple of their wedding quilts (nieces that is). There is fabric from the bits that went into my parents 50th wedding anniversary quilt, and some from thier 30th and my 25th too. I see some from a quilt friend that has passed and some from friends still here. More bits from charity guild quilts we all put together years ago and then some in class projects from guild. There are bits of squishies here and there from RCTQ friends. It is amazing just how much can go into a really scrappy quilt. Maybe that is why they are probably my favorite. What a wonderful thing this quilt has become for me. I didn't plan it as anything more than a use for small scraps but somewhere along the way it became special. Funny how such an odd ball bunch of fabrics can come together. Taria
