I made myself dessert for breakfast -- oatmeal, dried fruit bits, brown sugar, milk (I used the 4% for this -- a girl's gotta live sometimes). Divine! I've been thinking a lot about making something and decided to give it a go.
My LQS had this Moda fabric and pattern up:
I stitched up a little table cloth with some Makower seaside motif fabric that I found on a hot sale. It's bright and summery and nobody else in the house really likes it. But I do. Makes me think of summer on the Gulf shore of Texas when I was young.
Someday I will tell you all the long, sad story of the little quilt I made when the local guild announced in a meeting in March that they had no little boy quilts and one was needed for a specific special occasion. LOL -- skip to the end: The little quilt (really cute superhero fabric stitched up in Warm Wishes with a fleece backing) is here waiting to be needed. At the April meeting (I couldn't go) a friend who doesn't suffer fools gladly and speaks her mind ended up telling the 'comfort quilt coordinator' to go do something rather anatomically difficult. We are going to start our own textile art interested group (NOT a guild) here and skip the guild. Numbers at the guild have dropped to the point that there will be no quilt show next year because nobody will take on the chair of the show position. Sad, but indicative of what happens when a core of ... 'heritage' members calls the shots and looks down their noses at everybody else.
And that's what I'm doing. Hand surgeon appointment on Wednesday. Keep me in your prayers. If they fix my wrist I can get back to doing what I love.
