Pet peeve: shipping time

I had a very good experience with Fabric Depot--mentioned in another post on this thread. Good fabric selection, reasonable prices, and reasonable packing and shipping time.

Best regards, Michelle in NV

For the UK'ers who order here I use The Tabbycat and get a beautifully packaged parcel the next day. Last time I couldn't tell which of two blues the fabric I needed more of was, so I sent her a sample and asked her to e-mail me as I wanted to order other things too. She actually phoned me, had a long chat, gave me my answer, I sent the order in and the next day, there it was. Brilliant.

They have recently started to show you a list of previous orders when you sign in, but this fabric was from before they did this, so not in their records.

Their address starts 'The Tabbycat, Muffin Lane' isn't that lovely! Sounds like a child's story book.

I don't have to have polite; don't have to have speed. The flaw that gets my dander up is when they gouge with shipping costs. A while back, Julia recommended 100 wt silk for hand appliqué. The place I ordered it from charged $10 to send it to me. Now really! I'll grow my own silk worms and spin my own thread before I go back to that place. Incidentally, the 100 wt silk thread is absolutely magic. Thanks, Julia. Polly

Thanks for the tip on Fabric Depot - I haven't purchased from them, and they look awesome.

BTW, no box from Slow Shipper yet.....;-)
