Pfaff free motion quilting Update

My new modified Pfaff free motion ankle arrived today! I gave it a test run and definitely have a bigger visual field.

Sadly, it did not seem to come with an innate ability to make the feathers demonstrated in the video :(

Said video is here:

My machine feathers are rough. Watching that video has inspired me though. I sat with paper and pencil after seeing that video. Something clicked and I could actually see my feathers working them selves sort of right. I am quilting today and feathers look much improved. I don't have a Pfaff but the link did help me out. Keep at it and maybe the feathers will be a tad less 'ruffled'

Wish you all were here this afternoon. A big beautiful apple pie is sitting on the counter calling out to me. I'd gladly share.

Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted on the progress with those feathers. I still remember Debra Wagner's course when she taught us that feathers were just slanted and curved "m&m"s. If you can get your hands on a copy of "All Quilt Blocks Are Not Square," she has an excellent feather tutorial in there. I know that everybody learns differently, but that clicked it for me somehow. HST, it still takes a lot of practice to get to Patsy's level.

Have mucho fun! anth> My new modified Pfaff free motion ankle arrived today! I gave it a
