Pix: New Geometrical Quilt from Pat's book

I've been busy this week making a cushion cover using another of Pat's (on her hill) wonderful patterns from her book, Geometrical Quilts. This one is the Von Koch Snowflake. It was a challenge and fun to make. Decided to use colours from orange to rust to red from my stash. See pix at:

Also, three of my quilting buddies are making the Logarithmic Spiral and I have seen them still being completed. They are all so different and stunning. Can't wait for them to be finished and post pix for you to see.

Thank you Pat!

WOW that is stunning!

I wish I had the time and energy to do some quilting, DS has recovered fine I'm currently battling throat infection, possible sinus infection- or at least a bad head cold, and the last two days I've been doing eye drops for conguctivitus.

Oh Bronnie, that's beautiful - stunning colours! Thank you so much. And fancy your friends doing one, too. How exciting. I'll look forward to seeing them. This all means so much to me - to see the different ways they look with other colour schemes; and to think that people like the designs enough to go to the trouble of making them.

I know how tricky those curved pieces are, so I must congratulate you on their flatness! (Not that I'm looking in a judging sort of way, at all

- it just jumps out!)

Thanks again Bronnie. . In message , snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com writes

So sorry to hear you are poorly -- I've just got over a throat infection myself which turned into laryngitus, but no head cold. Hope you feel better quickly, nothing worse. Thanks for your comment on the snowflake too. Bron

Glad you like it too Pat! I actually hand pieced the curved sections as I figured that would be best for the size; and machined the remainder. It all went together quite easily in the end. Bronnie

Thanks Taria. The Spain pix were just of a week's walking in the Sierra Aracena's. We spent another 2 weeks in Spain before going to Portugal. Other areas of Spain were very dry and arid, so you are right aboutcomparing it to SoCal. My twin and I love to cook, so we take foodies pix. In a restaurant sometimes folk say oh, can they take a pix of me and DH, and we say, no, no, we're taking the food pix! Always a laugh. Cheers Bronnie

It's beautiful! Did you know you can post a picture of your quilt on Amazon if you go to Pat's book on Amazon. It would be a nice complement for her book. Can't wait to see your friend's quilts when they are ready.

Hey John, thanks. If you take another peek at the chair, DH replaced the cane seating 3 months ago - quite a big job - 40hrs I think. Very proud of him! I often show him pix of your timber work as he loves working with timber and had made a few furniture items and a built-in unit for my quilt studio. He's a keeper! Cheers Bronnie

The antibiotics are working on my throat, etc, and after this mornings chiro visit I feel a lot better, still sick but not misrable sick.

Yes, I can see where fitting that cane around the front angles where the arm supports meet the seat would make a grown man cry. Here is one to show him of an inlaid table I just finished. I originally only wanted to refinish it as it had started to show wear from pin nicks and scissor drops and other mayhem associated with sewing. When I got it down in the shop I said "Oh, what the hey, let's play with Poplar". Now I am going to do other inlays on the other sewing machine tables in the room. Should be fun. That is a nice job of caning. I had to do a job of caning for a set of 8 dining room chairs for a customer. I did it , but I never wanted to do another job like that again. Unless you do it often, it is hard to keep a fine hand tuned to that sort of thing. It has it's own tricks and pitfalls. Here is the link to the table for your husband.

Just checked Amazon. As I have not purchased a book through them, I can't post an image. But I will, one day! Bronnie
