Finished Pat's Geometric Pattern - pix

Finished a wall hanging using Pat's Logarithmic Spiral pattern from her book, Geometric Quilts. It was such fun to do and not so scary once I started . Using 2 wool challis fabrics for the background was an experiment that worked really well. The wool gives a richness of colour and contrast against the Japanese and batik fabrics of the Spiral. Construction hint learnt: iron-on pellon does not adhere to wool! Who else knew that?

It's dedicated to Pat!

Bronnie, that's really lovely! And I do like the dragonflies you quilted into the background! Congratulations! :)

Carole, I know just what you mean! I've assembled all of the fabrics for the quilt I'm going to make from this book, and I've even copied the pattern for paper piecing -- I just need to get a few more things out of the way so I can concentrate on this one. LOL!

It's paper-pieced wedges Jeanne! It's very much part of the idea that finding the first piece is a little difficult! Bronnie's quilt is very different in appearance to mine, because of the different edging and the glorious colours. . In message , nzlstar* writes

This one is done with foundation paper piecing - one for each wedge (they are all different).

Thanks Pat for responding on this; the headcold I have is quite knocking me over -- I spent the morning in bed, and am now taking things very slowly, my brain is not working too well at the minute. Bronnie

Sorry to hear that Bronnie - to have a cold in warm weather is horrible. Hope it doesn't last too long. No using of sharp implements while your head is fuzzy! Take care. . In message , Bronnie writes
