Placemats

I belong to a Yahoo group of French-speaking quilters who had a BOM over the course of the past year. I had originally intended to use my 4" blocks at the background of a quilt I had in mind, but I stupidly used some fabrics that were just too strong for what I wanted; I discovered this fairly early on. :S Anyway, when the BOM ended, I had a little stack of a dozen 4" blocks and no idea what to do with them. I also had a lovely toile that had been a gift a few years ago, and it suddenly occurred to me to use that with the blocks to make some placemats. They're finished now and ready for use in the fall. Very nice, Sandy. The use of the red piping is genius ... it is an unexpected and very special addition to the brown shades. PAT in VA/USA
