QI, Claws and Quilts

DD always has her kitties de-clawed and I NEVER do so. DD has never had a kitty with a problem but she has a wonderful Vet. It's not an easy surgery to do properly so that the kitty doesn't suffer unduly. Understand that removing the claws would be similar to having the ends of part of your fingers removed! ANY residual pain in the paws **will** result in litterbox problems. Imagine how you would feel if you had the ends of your fingers on both hands surgically removed and it hadn't been done correctly and you had to be digging in sand several times each day for the rest of your life!!!! If you (that's a generic "you", I'm not pointing fingers) insist that you have your kitty de-clawed, PLEASE make sure you use a Vet who comes highly recommended! You might have to go to a different Vet who charges more but it's worth it in the long run. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I have 4 cats and 3 dogs. It is the doggy QI's that destroy my quilts.

We have one female cat that started furniture scratching when my husband's grandfather's furniture moved into the house.

Nail clippers work wonders and I only have to check her once a week or so.

Just my two cents.
