They knew she was very, very sick, but it always shocks the young when Mom can't make things better. Time will pass and the sadness you all feel for the next bit will turn into good memories, and in that place Razzle will live forever young.

It is hard to lose a pet and just as hard to tell the kids. I have so sorry for both you and the entire family. I do not have children but I remember having to tell my nephew that his Snowball was gone. Another one that lived at our house but belonged to him, he was young at that time and stayed here as much as he did at home. Maybe that is why all his pets stay here, he did too as a youngin'

I'm so sorry - hope for the best in telling the kids. Stepping stone sounds like a great idea. The art store I use has some nice plaster of paris kits, that you can add texture to. I'd think any Michaels or the like would have something.

I'm sure there's a big doggie park somewhere that all our friends get to go and romp in always. It's such a hard decision, and a hard loss.

Oh, Kellie! I'm *so* sorry! I just know Razzle is happily playing with all of our QIs while they wait for us. {{{{{Hugs}}}}} to all of you -- please tell your wonderful children how sorry I am. I think the idea of a stepping stone is a great one.

Sorry I can't help about the kit. I helped a neighbour explain to his kids about a beloved family cat, and we made a stone for them to write on. But we just used quick-set concrete.

Kellie, I am so sorry. It hurts to let go, but it's the greatest kindness to allow them to go in peace. I used regular quikcrete (sp?) for my memorial stone for Sophie, but it's not been walked on. Thank you everyone for your notes! It has been a rough, teary eyed day, but i think we will all make it thru. Raz was an angel all her life and i truely believe she is one now again, still, more. So many people have told me she was the best dog they've ever known. I have to agree :~D We all talked about Razzle at dinner, and after we made the mosaic stepping stone kit I found at hobby lobby. It is curing on the front porch right now. Have to wait a while before i can inscribe names and dates and such.

Tessa dog is seeming a little confused. giving me lots of kisses and looking at the back door a lot. This will take a bunch of getting used to. gonna miss the golden smiles and the black mascara and eyeliner she always seemed to be wearing. NOT gonna miss the 2am bathroom breaks.

The vet tech asked if i needed five more minutes to say goodbye before the vet came in I told her i needed five more years
