quilt batting

On the off chance I got the borders on the dreaded dresden plate done (almost, this afternoon I hope) and you needed a white batt what would you use? I have a mess of Hobbs Heirloom in natural but this quilt has white background so I guess I should really use white. I am going to hand quilt so I was thinking Dream request or the bleached hobbs.

The other question is with these battings in white will a seam in the backing show through? I have enough of the solid white on the front but will have to seam it.(don't tell Steven's co-worker)

This quilt has been hanging over my head a long time. Maybe I am just overworking it. LOL TIA, Taria

Taria, I would think either would be ok. the cream color would diffuse some of the seam showing, and white will not show on the other if it pills. i would use the soft and natural, unbleached. but that's me!

I've used the Hobbs Heirloom in natural for a white quilt. It would probably look even whiter if I had used a white batt, but I was satisfied with the result. Try holding a pieces of the natural batting and a white batting under your quilt top to see how they compare. I don't get concerned with seams showing in my backing, but then I'm not one to get real concerned about backs that won't show in normal use. YMMV.
