Quilt Central

The monthly magazine sent out by our PBS station arrived today, and it lists "Quilt Central" on Saturday afternoons at 3:30 (where Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting has been airing). Has anybody seen Quilt Central yet in their area? What's is like? I suppose I could look it up on the PBS site, but that wouldn't be near as much fun as getting your feedback!

I quit watching it quite a while back. :(

I know some people love it, but for me, there was kind of a lack of focus. They were doing some quilting, some piecing, some home dec, some crafting. Plus the two hosts annoyed me. (Gosh, I sure sound cranky, don't I!) I much preferred Fons and Porter -- even the shows I had seen 25 times already.

They show it here on a PBS station on Friday afternoons.I however, don't watch it.One of the women (janie something)has such an annoying accent that I can't stand .Plus, they never seem to be doing anything I'd do or theye're working on a longarm(which I don't have). My $.02 Shelly

DH and I have a long-standing joke about Saturday afternoons. About 2:30 I tell him I'm going to the bedroom to "watch my programs" (the sewing/quilting programs are on from 3 to 4:30). He gives me that look that says, "Yeah, right." And I then turn on the TV, lay down on the bed, and promptly fall asleep! Sounds like I won't miss anything if I continue to do that!

Shelly,

I'll probably watch it at least once just to hear the accent! I appreciate knowing your opinion -- that way, when I don't like it, I won't think it's just me!

I dunno. Jane Donaldson's squeaky voice might just keep you awake! LOL

I figure if a show is about quilting I will find at least a few minutes of enjoyment. The problem in Chicago is the station on which it airs has very poor sound quality. I have to turn the sound level up almost to the highest level and then there is static.

I agree that the individual programs do not have a focus. They could do much better.

I'll probably watch it -- just because I have this thing about having to watch anything on television that involves quilting! Doesn't sound like it's going to be a "must see," though.

Thanks for your feedback.
