No tease at all. I didn't hear any specifics about what the machine will do at all, and frankly it would have to bind a quilt without my help to impress me.

However, since the lowest priced Bernie that comes with the stitch regulator was quoted to me as being $8000 on Wednesday (and this was a machine that only does a straight stitch), I predict the new machine's price will be one arm and one leg. Debra in VA See my quilts at:

Somebody is pulling your leg already. You can get a BSR machine for a lot less than 8000.

Must be that time of year! Husqvarna Viking unveiled their new TOL machine a couple of weeks ago. List is $8,999! Plus the embroidery arm is h-u-g-e, you 'd have to have good size table for that sucker.... Pfaff just came out with their new one, too...price is aobut the same.

For that money, I think I'd rather put up an addition to my house - like a new sewing room :)

Not only that, but there aren't any Berninas that do only a straight stitch; they all have zigzag capability. :) Someone really messed up the explanation to you, Debra!

I'm so glad I'm happy with my Singer 99K! It does everything I ask it to do, does it very well, and is PAID FOR.

Rather than buy a sewing machine I don't need, I'd take that money and put it on a lovely vacation!

Whoever quoted you the $8000 on the Bernina with stitch regulater is going to make $6000 + profit. I bought a Bernina 440QE with stitch regulator (worth every penny) for $1599.00. I would shop around. The embroidry module upgrade was an additional 999.00 So with both it's still way under $8000.

HV went through the same thing over the past few month before unveiling their new Designer Diamond. It lists at $9,000. If it had a SR, I would consider it, but it doesn't have that many more features than my SE has. They cater more to machine embroiderers than quilters, I think. I've never even had the embroidery unit on this machine.

I see the 730 (maybe E) over at ebay for a 'buy it now' for $ 4,999. Not cheap, for sure, but a nice difference in the $ 8,000 quoted to Debbi. And thank you, Bella. I'd like to take you shopping with me. Polly

$1,600 is a great price! I got mine, without stitch regulator for $2,499 and it was a demo. I know someone who paid $1,000 just to add the stitch regulator to a ready machine. I still find that unless I am doing a complex design, that I am better without it. It interferes with visibility.
