Re: Grackles

I never knew what those darn things were but we're loaded with them here in the south. We just call them black birds. lol You can always tell when the weather is going to get cold here by watching those critters feed. They'll be hundreds of them in the yard and practically cover the entire lawn feeding just before a cold snap. Hmm......I can't wait to tell DH, would'ja just look at all those GRACKLES out there? We have them too. In the fall they are so thick on the power lines it is incredible. I am in Plano, Tx.

Howdy! Grackles love garbage! I use the thick lawn bags for garbage; the guys here use the wimpy pull-string bags; the grackles love the thinner bags, ripping them open before the garbage truck arrives. Oh, yeah, I love to pick up scattered garbage; so far the solution is, "If you insist on using the wimpy bags, you will need to pick up the scattered trash!"

can tell the difference between the male & female grackles;have to look more closely to see the crows, which aren't very plentifulhere in south Arlington. Those grackles are a menace! Meanwhile, On a happy Topic, I'm putting the new fabric into thewashing machine; picked up a pile of beauties at the Arl. quilt show Sat.:

Something about that red Santa fabric called to me from years ago. And the trees come in green, of course. Ragmop/Sandy
