Re: OT-Seed Cake was ....Re: Time for another Roll Call?

Dear all,

Here is a pic of the opium poppies that my daughter grew, and everyone of them was purple. This is from 2003 and I have not grown even one since. The seeds never germinated.

well, as i am allergic to Poppy seeds and all Opium/Morphine products...i guess i'll have to stick w/the caraway seeds. i first learned of the seed cake from an old book called "Tim" by Colleen McCullough. Some of you in Oz may have read it. She also wrote "the Thorn Birds" another of my fave's. great mini-series, huh? now i really am dating myself...

gotta get to work..... amy in CNY

I really enjoyed the book "Tim". Very different and very touching, but it ended kinda sad. I just finished a fairly recent mystery by McCullough- it sure seems that she's changed directions from everything else she's written that I've read but I liked it, too.

Thanks Di for showing us.

Your Opium poppy has a lot more foliage than the poppies that pop up in my garden.

Have you read her series on Rome? Some of her very best work. I'm in the middle of Antony and Cleopatra right now, the 7th book in the series. Roberta in D
