Larissa, to find out more about the judging criteria, volunteer to work as a clerk for the judging. At least here in AZ we (I) will accept all volunteer workers. Also ask......... we encourage the judges to write some sort of comment on the entry tag, but it is rough. I did the sewing judging at last year's fair. It is fast and not a lot of time is available. Basically how *I* did it: look at overall quality of workmanship. This eliminates some just by comparison. Then when down to a manageable number start comparing. That is basically what the decisions are here. Which of the entries is better than all the others, then next and so on. Not real cut and dried.
