Saving money

I got a call yesterday from my friend who is in Florida for 6 weeks at her condo in Naples. She was at the Naples quilt show and called ME to ask what model of Viking sewing machine SHE has....( it's a Designer 1....she won it as a door prize at a quilt show in Ohio). She's been having shoulder problems and was looking at the Fabric Mover stitch regulator attachment for her machine and wanted to know if I knew anything about them. I told her we had just discussed that last week as well as a couple times in the past and that the consensus was that it wouldn't support a large quilt properly. She took a moment and said, "Yessss, I can see that! I made perfect stitches when I tried it and my shoulder didn't hurt at all. But their sample was about a 12x12" square. You just saved me $800! I was going to buy it!" She already thinks I know the latest scoop on all things quilting...HA! But I'm sure I've really secured that postition now! I told her to bring me a pretty fat quarter as a consultation fee.

Saw a brief part of a Rose Program yesterday. The Fella being interviewed has the Watsonville CA rose Fields. he stated that Audrey Hepburn is the most reliable most perfumed tea rose that they ever 'engineered' there. (I forgot what word he used) Hmmmmmmmmmm

Butterfly (I think I'll ask for it for HVDay :) I WILL find room for it ; )

I "could" tell her about us, but she's a type A sort....as long as I get the info, she doesn't need to join because she doesn't have time to sit at the computer and read messages. She's the type of person who knows her resources. And she's a Hoot!

Howdy!

"saved" money-- well, a consultation fat quarter fee is the least of it, considering she just "saved" $800. Way to go, Kathyl!

A few years ago we went looking at motor homes and M-B coaches, and figured we'd "saved" $45,000 - $70,000, which will buy several hundred nights in a very nice h/motel when we go traveling.
