Aren't they darling? I stopped at our small Walmart yesterday to buy the clothesline rope and they didn't stock it. I was so disappointed and it will mean a drive to find some now. I think I'll be a basket makin' fool once I get started on them...I love the ones in the photo you posted. Donna
Seems like someone here said Ace Hardware carried the clothesline. Does your town do Ace? Polly

I had the same experience at WalMart. Polly remembers right, I have been able to find the cotton clothesline rope at our Ace Hardware. On one of the links posted earlier someone mentioned they use macrame cord instead of clothesline, so now I will be Internet searching for that!
You know, many years ago, before I did much quilting, but a lot of sewing, I made a fabric covered coil bowl. It was for an Am. Sewing Guild challenge and the fabric was one of the few that I have ever seen that was truly ugly. Shirley Adams showed how to make these on one of her TV (PBS shows) and used home dec. piping cord. It comes in lots of sizes and is soft, not really stiff. If you wrap the cord tightly it is stiffer than if you wrap a bit looser. And didn't use any glue or anything. Mine came out a bit lopsided, but not bad for a quick first effort. (I will have to find it and post a picture of it.) So check at the fabric shop for uncovered piping cord..... either home dec or fashion (there is a difference, will try to find pics of each)
