Thanks, Sandy. I am happy to be back, but had to employ the "all read" key!

Thank you, Taria. Pat's Original Virginia Fife and Drum Corps is busy practicing for tonight. The Corps will play Auld Lang Syne at the stroke of midnight, of course. ;)

And since that would probably be EST, I'll still be awake in PST at the stroke of 9:00 PM to hear it! Then I'm off to bed. I'll take a nap now so I can stay up until even 9:00 PM!

Maybe I should try celebrating with Jeanne! The New Zealand New Year's time might be just right for me here in Nevada.

Join the club, Kay! DH and I will go out, but we'll probably be home before 10:00, and I'll be yawning before that. LOL!

NOOOOoooooo!! I missed it! It was too early for me! Hummmm, where was I

10½ hours ago. . . . . that's about the time I get up! Actually I get up at 4:00 AM every day. So what I thought might have been the telephone ringing at little after 3:00 AM was really the New Year's bells tolling in New Zealand!

Kay, darlin'! Why on earth do you get up at 4 a.m. every day??? Often I'm just getting sleepy at that horrendous hour- insomnia doncha know. You poor baby! FOUR a.m.????

I don't know. I lived in the Midwest and on the East Coast for so long, I think my body still wakes up on Eastern time. My Nevada 4:00 AM is actually an East Coaster's more respectable 7:00 AM. If I want to call my Mom in her time zone before she leaves the house , I have to call at 3:30 AM. Maybe it had to do with my Dad doing shift work when I was a wee-bitty tyke.

In the summer it's kind of glorious to get up at that time -- sunrises around here are beautiful! My Mother will dispute this, but I think I've always been an early-to-bed early-to-rise person.

I'll put it in my calendar for December 31, 2008 -- get up at 3:00 AM to celebrate the New Year on the other side of the world! :-) I'm truly more likely to do that than stay up until midnight my time.
