Glad to see your post again; but sorry to know you hurt your back. I do hope you're able to sew some and make the reunion outfit.

The back goes out less and less frequently. I was really hoping that with the exercise and such that the muscles would be strengthening up and it wouldn't happen to this degree again....or maybe I've overdone it. I have put my Etsy shop on vacation and am working on clothing for myself and the family....played with a new pattern for a tunic top and all that is left is the hem. There are some changes that I will be making on the next version - it's scheduled for 3 different fabrics....lol. First one is purple, then a red/black, and then a turquoise...these are my comfy, breathable tops for summer and can be worn with either shorts, jeans, or capris. I have a shorts outfit to make for DD, but I need her to try on the first outfit I made so that I can check the waist.

I need to take the time now to make them some clothing because I also have custom orders to make for the fall craft fair - which means locating the fabric again....lol. Craft fair isn't until November, but between now and then, I have a reunion (Saturday), summer school work with the kiddos, making school clothes, making costumes for the family picture, getting things together in prep for the school year and trying to figure out how I"'m supposed to come up with the money for a family vacation next year....ugh....there will be time for all of this because I am no longer in the MOPs group.....lots of things are no longer part of my life, at my own decision, which will clear up some more time to devote to my family and business.

Oh yes, forgot the county fair in August.....it's the week before school starts which makes things logistically awkward, but we shall see how it all goes....

Hi Larisa,

It's been a long time since I've seen a post from you anywhere. So sorry to hear about your back but hoping you get better super fast this time.

I don't get to keep up with the newsgroups too much lately but it sounds like you haven't been either. I had no idea you had an esty shop but good for you.

I've been keeping busy sewing for the two little DGDs here in Western New York, the older is 4 now and the little one is 17 months tomorrow. I don't know if you remember me asking you about the princess dress (Cinderella I believe) a year or more ago but I ended up with my first UFO in ages with that one. I ended up with a different and much easier for me pattern and making a Snow White dress. Every once in a while she will ask when I am ever going to make her a Cinderella dress but she's almost over that stage it seems.

Good to hear from you and know you are doing well (well except for the back)

Back is better, and yes, I remember the princess dress...I *still* have one that wants a princess dress...argh...lol.

Right now I'm doing better, both physically and mentally. Trying to sort out the whole business aspect because truthfully, what I have been making in a year still qualifies under "hobby"...not really enough to pay taxes on, though I have been doing so...most recently, the quarterly taxes were less than the cost of the check, envelope, paperwork, and stamp - $2.68....doesn't make much sense to me, really. Of course, that will also mess things up with my bank since the account is in my name "DBA my business name", though I suppose I could just close it out and roll the money into our regular account or the kids' savings accounts....

Working on getting some kids clothing done now, mainly because they both chose things and their pile is a bit larger than mine....current thing is DDs winter coat - fleece takes up a LOT of room. After that, probably back to a pair of shorts that she asked for - not like she needs them given the state of her closet...lol. We shall see what gets done before school starts...then I'll see where I need to fill in with either quick sewn items or store bought...
