Sew EZI Table

Hi Everyone,

GF and I went to the Flying Geese Quilt Guild's quilt show at the OC Fairgrounds today. Was wonderful to do something fun that did not wipe out my non-existent funds since I bought absolutely nothing!

GF found a Sew EZI sewing table and she liked it, but did not like the price. Does any one have any opinion of the table? Any ideas where to get one other than from them directly where the price might be lower?

Thanks for the help

Nice little table. Have you checked their homepage?

Mary,

She has already checked their website before we went. $229. seems rather steep for what it is. You then have to pay for every additional piece, so the price can go up tremendously. Their show "special" was that they do not charge for shipping-- good one, we would have taken it home with us and not had it shipped!

She was hoping that someone might have one and give their opinion prior to continuing her research.

Thanks

Didn't get the original message, but... I bought a Sew EZI table last year at Houston. One of the best investments I ever made. Love it. Because it is fairly lightweight and has wheels it is convenient to carry to workshops/guild sewing days and such. In fact I took it with me to teach a class on Friday. I am hoping to convince the shop to carry them... at least one of the students said if they had been for sale in the shop she would have bought one then and there. Even though the table top is plastic, it is very sturdy and doesn't shake all over when sewing at full speed. It is very easy to assemble, the tools you need are included with the table. The insert that is specific to your machine included the info on how many "spacers" to put on the supports for the lowered shelf so that the bed of the machine is level with the table top. It is the "correct" height for sewing so that you are comfortable. No "making do" with banquet type tables with the machine on top.

If you have specific questions I will be happy to answer them. NAYY, but a very happy customer.

The base price includes one insert for a machine. If you want the "solid" insert or the clear one without a cut out for the machine that is extra. (But if you want to use the insert as a light table, if the design is not too large there is plenty of room on the one that comes for the machine.... or just use a piece of glass/clear plastic that would set on the table.....) I had a wooden table that was similar to this one. The cost on that was at least $150. It was heavier, and did not have the wheels, or the carrying case. The Sew EZI carrying case has a pocket for the insert, and another pocket that is a bit deeper and is over the shelf that holds the machine. This table has 2 "handle" cutouts, one on the end opposite the wheels to make pulling it very easy, and one on the long side, which makes it very easy to lift into and out of the car, or to carry that way. It is a lot lighter weight in general. No, I am not affiliated with this company. But I did do the research before I bought it........ starting after I first saw this table a couple of years ago.

Thanks so much for this information! This looks like what I've been looking for. I've been using a "tilt-table" and it works pretty good but I long for the shorter height. I'm getting ready to move my "lair" (close as it gets to being a studio) downstairs to the family room. I've thought I wouldn't even set my machine up if I can't find a decent table.

Can you get more than one insert? I have a Bernina and a Featherweight and like to use both of them.

Happy quilting!

You can get extra inserts for a price. My suggestion is to set the table up for the machine that needs the deepest setting. You can set the "shallower" machine on something to raise it up to bed level. With the Featherweight you might be able to get by with just setting the machine into the table opening, since it has a fairly large bed of its own. The inserts are almost a necessity when using a machine that has a free arm.

Pati, did you take it with you or did you have it shipped? Would love to have one and am going to Houston for the first time this year (YEA). I am going on a bus tour so not sure about bringing one back with me--would hope for Free Shipping.

Thanks, Jeanne! I have a Bernina 200 and it was listed on the website for inserts. So maybe I can get one and bring it back on the bus. I remember your loooooong trip back home!! And your very creative efforts to get the fabric home. : > )

yup, where theres a will, theres a way. might need to act/look pathetic to get your way but hey, whatever works, eh. i did have to mention that i was on my way 'home' to nz, such a long way to go, doncha know and i'm ever soooooo tired after all i've been thru, yadda yadda yadda, lol. i was even prepared to start emptying my suitcase and piling more fabric over my shoulders as clothing if it was necessary. i was right up to full weight allowance on the two suitcases, after rearranging a few bits at the airport checkin counter to get them both within the allowance. lucky for me no one asked to weigh my carry on or i'd of been hit with massive excessive luggage, enough i'm sure to buy another ticket home. iirc, i ended up weighing all the stuff i carried/wore home and it added up to around 53 lbs. i couldnt send the carry on bag thru regular luggage anyhow cuz i had the glass vase in there. no way would i trust that to luggage after all i went thru to even have to bring it home in the first place. i'd really love to do another trip to usa without having to worry about 'having' to get stuff home, well other than bringing home more quilting stuff that is, lol. have a GREAT trip and when you see everyone at the big meet up in the lunch room give each one a biiiiiiiiiig hug from me, eh. you might need to look around to find them, someone should have a sign on the table, but if ya have to, start calling out RCTQ RCTQ RCTQ at the top of your voice, you'll get a maaaaaaaarvelous reception. they usually do dinner all together that night after the show too, not to be missed. :)) waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, i wanna go again, now. no,i really mean NOW. waaaaaaaaaaaa. hugz, jeanne

Donna, I had it shipped to me. That was all they were doing actually. It took a week or so, but that was okay too. Hope we get to meet up in Houston. I will be in the lunch room area most days around 11:30 or so. Have my big white with black handles bag, it will have a big "RCTQ" on it, come on over and say "Hi". Stop me if you see me around too.... redhead, most days in/on a scooter, with the big bag (hopefully) on the back of it. (Yes I am running a day late. I should have left yesterday... had some problems and ended up not being able to get far from the bathroom all yesterday. So am missing one of my sessions at Market tomorrow. sigh. I think something I ate the day before did not agree with my system, combined with stress and ...........)
