Sewing machines keep falling on my head...

Not quite literally!

4 more will be arriving in the next few weeks from a lady at my Weight Watchers group. They've been in her attic for 4 years. One may be a Brother. At least one is a hand crank. One has a motor on the back. Other than this, it's a parcel of mysteries! :)

I'll keep you posted on what happens to them, and whether or not they will stay to help make quilts or move on to help others. Looks like there will be 19 in the house for a while! ARGH! I keep telling folk

*I* don't collect sewing machines - *THEY* collect me!

I'm with Irene. That does sound like big fun. Kate, I hope that at least one is a gorgeous treasure. It could happen. Please do report back. Polly

Almost up and running again! Need to get the drip pan unbent so it doesn't rub on the under side of the mechanism as it goes round, get the new belt fitted (arrived yesterday), and a needle in... One of two that arrived via the joy that is Freecycle! :)

Oh I would love to have a treadle machine again. I learned to sew on one and I cried when my mother THREW AWAY her old Singer, I have a lovely old motorised singer here in a wooden case but it is missing part of the bobbin assembly and I have nowhere to get parts. One day I must post pictures and seek your help to get it running again - although it's not the treadle I crave (sigh).
