Spiders NOT ot

I think it's *such* a shame that with all the digital simulators they have now such a joke is no longer available to the tekkies of the RAF...

The first house the parents lived in together was a tiny thatched cottage. Thatch is a paradise for spiders. One evening a guest asked dad to remove the awfully large spider from the bath, so she could feel safe using the loo... Dad was always one to grab spiders and put them outside, as they are great for eating garden pests. This one, with legs out, was as wide as a tea saucer, and it bit him as he grabbed it. His arm swole up, and he was grounded for a week! That was one tough spider! BTW, it was just a gigantic sized standard house spider!

When we lived in Germany, my ratbagging bro caught a nice big spider and put it in a large match box. I heard a yell from the cellar, and then Ma calling for bro... Then his voice: Mum! You let it go! I was saving it for Big Sis! No, no, says mum. She like BEETLES not spiders! (This comment occasioned by Big Sis once attempting to eat a stag beetle she found at about a year old!). Big Sis tends to have screaming abdabs at spiders.

Luckily we have never lived anywhere inhabited by tarantulas. I know some folk like them, but they are NOT as cuddly as cats, and if you want something furry with eight legs, just get two cats!
