We need to turn this into a "Moving Experiences' Thread. What fun that could be: ) And for those of you that moved from home to your home...you could share 'moving furniture' from one room to another and tell what long lost but not forgotten items you found. Like $$$$$$, pins, scissors, etc.......
Heck Sandy, I was so busy thinking at how much room I would need that never occurred to me. lol. Hopefully Alice will not need to do any more raiding by the time she gets this far west.
We had a small pick up for 14 years. Finally got rid of it last year when it wasn't being used much. DH traded it for a fun car. I hadn't missed it once until I found an antique bed at the thrift store yesterday. That bed fit in my CRV though so turns out I still didn't need that old truck. Having a friend with a truck as plan 'B' works pretty well too.
Nope, not phishing....just thought it was a good question! I manage to keep all my fabric, machines, patterns, books, etc. in one closet, but then there's the cutting table, and sewing table. When I started quilting about
5 years ago, I swore that I'd never tackle more than one project at a time. Now I tell my friends that they've corrupted me.....I guess I have about 6 projects underway! I did finish one quilt yesterday, though.....my first attempt at scalloped border and binding. I'll post photos later.
Freecycling for a couple of years; sometimes I have to laugh atthe "wants" posted there. Finding new homes for "good stuff" works for me.The new owners are happy w/ the deacon's bench, quilt rack, twin bed, computer monitor, suitcases, gas b-b-q grill, golf balls, etc.. In-laws live next to a golf course & collect dozens of balls every month, from their back yard; I've met parents who are introducing their children to golf and appreciate the free golf balls, delivered in egg cartons.
Anyway, recycling the "old" stuff makes room for the new. When I realized that many of the new pieces of furniture I was looking at were for storage I also realized it was time to discard, rotate, recycle; found some forgotten treasures during the upheaval. ;-D I haven't tried to keep all the sewing stuff in one room (or on one floor). I collect. Stuff. There comes a time, tho', when I have to cry "Uncle!" and clear out some excess.
The bed fit into the CRV, huh? DH has been eying those for years, maybe I ought to suggest a used one to compliment his Accord; most of the stuff I want to carry fits in the PT Cruiser just fine, but there are times I miss having a (full-size) pick-up.
Back to Alice's question (she assures me she's not phishing ), Dad had a dump truck, 30+ yrs ago, too slow for a stash hauler.
