How about a simplified 'storm at sea?' I made a graduation quilt for my nephew last year, using his high school colors in this pattern. I did it using paper piecing methods, which worked well for me, but it can be made with traditional quilting methods as well.

Oooh! That "Scrappy Stars" is adorable! I love it!! (adds pattern to treasure trove!)
Thank you sew much for that link, Liz!! :)
Howdy!

I love Irish Chain in all its forms, and IMO it looks particularly good in 2 colors. You can do a single chain (9-patch alternating with plain squares) or a double chain in 2 reds. And the plain areas are so wonderful for quilting. Roberta in D

Is this a regular poster or an idiot who took a wrong turn??
To make up for the ones you so clearly lack? :)
I doubt it. :)
In any case, I don't think she particularly wants to think about her GD having sex ... maybe her priorities are a little different than yours?
Connie No offence, but we try not to reply to posts in any way like this. We also try not to use the s-x word in full as it encourages more unacceptable visitors. . In message , Connie writes
Yikes! Sorry!! :(
I wasn't sure if this was an idiot or regular poster making a joke in poor taste. On the off chance that it was a RP, I thought I'd let them know it wasn't funny a'tall.
And I really didn't think that anyone here REALLY talked that way - I sure as heck haven't seen anyone do that!
Again, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to feed the trolls!! :(
Not to worry - but sometimes they do become a real nuisance. . In message , Connie writes
This is a quilt called Reflections. The pattern is by Billie Lauder, and used to be on the web. I had purchased the "end of a bolt" in a neutral with a tiny red and blue print, and was looking for a way to use it. It sure made a dent in all my reds.....
*rolls eyes* This was one time I had thought the stereotype of a little old lady in a shawl quiltin' would have been a GOOD thing. Would've thought for sure that no weirdos would have thought to venture in HERE.
What the heck is the world coming to??? :(
Roberta,
Irish Chain is pretty close to the top of the list, however, I really like log cabins, too. I need to make a decision and soon!
I love your pink and purple quilt. Wish she would have given me a little more choice in colors. Her mom & dad said blue, red, & neutrals - I would like that even better than just the red & neutrals, especially for a log cabin.
Yep, I knew you had a kid at Texas State, too.

After all of your wonderful answers - she changed her mind! She found a quilt on the internet made from Amy Butler Belle fabrics and fell in love with it. So, I've bought 30 fat 8ths, and 6 fat quarters of the Amy Butler fabric. Here's the link:
Simple but effective Donna, just the type of quilt I like to do. lol
