Table topper finished

The topper was made to thank a lady who brought my copy of Pat's book over from the UK for me - it was a design taken from the winter 2007 Fons&Porter magazine - it was also started and finished within a week. The topper is 24inches square and chose to use tulip themed fabrics to represent Ottawa's spring tulip festival. Photos can be viewed in webshots

For Miz Polly who likes to see Winston - there are some new photos of his mischief in his webshots album.

I have also finished 7 double-ended oven mitts for my neighbour this week - she even took the sample that I had prepared to test my design concept. I am now free to plan something using Pat's book and patterns - it will be fun!

I'm delighted that you have your book at last. I can't wait to see what you make. It's such a lovely experience enjoying what folk have made from my designs. Never thought such a thing would happen! Have fun Jen >g< . In message , jennellh writes

And from Winston's Aunt Polly, thank you for the pictures. Being cute apparently is quite exhausting. Polly

Polly, it is not only exhausting for him! I think that the longer he sleeps, the more outrageous his pranks when he wakes up: I never know what he might get up to next......jennellh

I love it, and I'm sure the recipient will, too. The colour placement is very effective, particularly in the twisted ribbon illusion.

He and my dear little Tigger would have a wonderful time together. They sound so alike in their personalities! Tigger does the jumping up trick. I have deep scratches in most unusual places to show where my clothing wasn't enough of a foothold >g< He also has the most eloquent body-language. We always know exactly what he wants. My little Polly has a vocal vocabulary for that - loads of subtly different sounds. They do make life interesting. . In message , jennellh writes

Oh my, Jennell! That's just *gorgeous*! The pattern is lovely, but the quilting really "makes" this one. Beautiful McTavishing, beautiful feathers (have I mentioned recently how much I love feathers? ) -- it's breath-taking!

Thank you, Sandy - that is high praise indeed, coming from a multiple ribbon winner! I love the freedom of freestyle feathering - no lines to follow..I have recently taken to using the embroidery attachment foot and find that I have greater control and better field of vision when I do my quilting. jennellh
