No permanent QIs here, but we have occasional visitors such as Murphy the African Grey parrot. Who has a very warped sense of humor and is not shy about expressing opinions! I once knew a dog (half poodle, half some-sort-of-terrier) who spoke quite a few words. We have 4 neighbor cats who visit regularly, and with them it's "don't speak unless spoken to". We always know when they're on the way, because the outdoor birds all start yelling "cat!" Roberta in D

Sasha has always been really well behaved. She does get the occasional naughty streak of behaviour, however... usually beginning when guests are over, so she can show off and either 1) not get in trouble, or 2) have me make a fuss in front of others. I'm not as strict as I used to be. She's 12 after all. Our usual policy now is, "I'll pretend I'm not seeing that, Sasha", and on Sasha's part, "I'll pretend I'm not doing it, Jo".

My former QI, Patches, (may she rest in peace) said "mama" just as clear as day. Then she would make that lovely question mark with her tail and look at me plaintively. She only did it just before giving me the loving head butt and rubbing under my chin.
