Totally OT: Bald eagle gets a new beak

This has absolutely nothing to do with quilting but is just the most amazing story I hope you don't mind my sharing it. It is about a bald eagle whose beak was shot off by a poacher, and the wonderful story of how a determined raptor rehabilitator is working to make the eagle 'whole' again.

Well, it made me cry just to read it.

...and here's the video of them attaching the beak....the bird is wide awake and letting her handles do their thing to her....like she knows they are trying to help her.

(who should have been a raptor rehabilitator)

I am forwarding the links to a friend who does raptor rehabilitation. It gave me goose-bumps! Thanks so much.

I saw this on Discovery Channel, Direct TV where a man made a new beak for the eagle so that it will be able to feed itself. I think it is so wonderful! Barbara in SC
