I'm looking for a free pattern for an eagle.
It could be a complete eagle, or just the head. Sitting or flying, either is ok. I'd prefer something fairly lifelike, in particular not the sort of "folksy" style.
I prefer piecing, foundation or regular.
It can be fairly intricate, since I only need to do the one for now, and I'm not in a time crunch - yet :-)

Margaret Rolfe has one that would be perfect. It's in her _Go Wild With Quilts: Fourteen North American Birds and Animals_. Could you get the book from the library? That's the only way I can figure out how you could get it for free.

definitely not free -- but looks to be worth the $17.
Here's another one -- you might be able to snap the image and create your own pattern on this one. (I know.. I know... copyright infringement)...
