I am a good mother.....My son's girlfriend graduates high school tonight (he graduated last June). Her family, step-family and other assorted folks are gathering at her house in a small town about 10 miles away. Graduation is at 8 p.m. My son is already there -- I drove him, of course. He can't afford to pay drivers' insurance so he doesn't drive yet. I am about to try to find something my fat behind can fit into and go over and mingle with 30 people I don't know and hope not to if you want to know the truth. We will walk almost a mile to the high school, sit in the stands for almost 2 hours and then graduation will start and will last two hours and we will walk back to their house. Wait for son and girlfriend to sneak a few kisses and then drive home.
I woke up this morning with a migraine. It fled under the influence of migraine medicine magic. But it's threatening to erupt again, full- armored and whole from my head like Athena from the head of Zeus.
I'm a good mom. Instead of playing with fabric, eating an early supper and tucking into bed at 8, I'm going to watch the pretty girl graduate and think of witty, or at least non-inflammatory things to say to people I'm not really inclined to like considering things I've heard about them over the past year.
If you think of it and can, please send me a bit of good stitching energy. Quilter's magic. I'm taking a quilt to wrap up in while we wait in the football bleachers.
Hugs to all and congratulations to every single graduating person on earth! Sunny
