Update on my mother

Dec 09, 2007 12 Replies

She has over 15 bruises on her arms and finally told the idiotic nurses to just STOP. Evidently her surses ALL slept thru IV insertion. One bruise is the size of a coffee cup.... She doesn't have the strenght to use a walker. Monday, hopefully, will be her RE-biopsy of the liver. In the meantime, I have become the family pariah. Noreen

Noreen, I hate hearing that!!! I will try to make time to see her after church. I will not say anything to the staff, I will call you if I don't like what I See. If not Sunday I will be able Monday after physical therapy.

Hugs & many prayers, Dennis

Why????? Your poor mother! I hope that she starts to feel a bit better, even though we know that it is only a matter of time. At least she should be kept as comfortable as possible.

Why as to which? WHy does she have so many nurse provided bruises? Why am I the family pariah?. THank you for the prayers my friend. Noreen

I figured out the bruise part, as that often happens when the person using the needle doesn't have enough practical experience. Why are you the pariah?

Katherine. . . I am the pariah, in my sister's eyes, due to my being twelve plus hours away.... long story. TFAsking.. Hugs, Noreen

I am so sorry. I went through something similar when my dad had terminal cancer. *****HUGS*****

WHAT????? I'd investigate that one, .. get that checked out Noreen.. Even if it is needle marks, there shouldn't be that many and a senior nurse or staff should have noticed if there were alot and investigated it.

Perhaps Dennis could take a quick look when he goes to visit her and report back to you???

Sorry to hear about your father Melinda, and it is true with any cancer in a person, they do bruise really easily, but even more reason for nursing staff to take more care.

higz Cher

Well, you are not a pariah here.

Higs, Katherine

Oh, I was talking about being the family paraiah, only in my case I am pretty sure it was just me being the family scapegoat again.
