Two projects on Webshots

Last fall I damaged my favorite winter coat by getting too close to a propane heater at a football game. I couldn't wear it the way it was, so I got adventurous and "appliqued" some leaves over the bad area. You can see pictures of my repair at the end of my "Other Projects" album. I'm happy with it, I can wear the coat, and I've even gotten some compliments on my "designer" fashion!

Also, I finished a pink baby quilt shown on the last page of "My Quilts" album. I have no girls in my family at all...brothers, sons, grandsons, nephews, etc. etc. so this was a treat to make for my Godchild's first daughter.

Nice going on the coat repair! I have a friend whose dog chewed holes in a vest, so she covered the holes with hearts and added a few more for good measure.

How clever of you, Alice! You used exactly the right colors for the appliqués so as to make them look as though they *should* be on the coat. :)

As for the quilt, I know just what you mean. We had four grandsons before having a granddaughter, and making her quilt was such a pleasure.

Thats a neat idea for the coat. I love the baby quilt. What size were the blocks for it? They look about 6 ". I have 4 more baby girl quilts to make.

Wonderful designer detail on the coat, Alice. One time I had to do something about a black mark on my very best pants. They matched a blazer that was precious to me as well as a nice sweater. I took the label from the pants and stitched it over the black mark. Someone asked why the label was where it was and I just said something about how crazy designers are these days. (Yessss, we are.) Great job on the coat, Alice! So neat you were able to not only salvage the coat but make it even better. :-)
