Very useful, thank you!
Does anyone use the spray adhesive that she mentions to secure the layers together? I can see that it might ne useful in a wall hanging that isn't going to be slept on/under, but I would be worried about the glue in bedding. morag
it washes out, but I've found that it's difficult to deal with over a larger area and can cause either the fabric or batting to crinkle slightly

I use basting spray almost exclusively. The one I use is Spray and Fix 505, which is basically odorless, but I do do my spray basting outside. It washes out. By using the spray I don't have to worry about pleats and such because you are temporarily adhering the fabric to the batting.

I hope you guys aren't using that alleged bamboo batting to save the environment and then using the adhesive for basting.

I use it most times. Especially for larger projects. I always wash my quilts before they are used though. There doesnt seem to be antyresidue left afterwards.
