From: "Dannielle" Subject: RCTQ BOM for October! Date: Thursday, September 28, 2006 7:33 PM

Yeah, I'm posting a little early. I just got myself caught up on the pieced blocks, so I wanted to get this posted before I get myself into another project or seven that are staring at me!

Have fun!

Dannielle

How this BOM works is I will post block patterns each month near the beginning of each month. One is pieced, one appliqué and one paper pieced. It is up to you which one (or ones) you would like to do. You will work at your own pace over the course of each month. You keep your blocks. You do not mail them to me. At the end of the year you will have twelve blocks to set into a quilt. You keep the quilt. You do not mail it to me (unless you really feel the need to give me this gift!). You will then have your very own 2006-2007 RCTQ BOM quilt. When I announce a month's block patterns, I will also include the previous months' as well so if you decide to join along the way you will have all the blocks. Pieced blocks and paper pieced blocks will be 12" in size whenever possible and appliqué blocks will be whatever I can find that is available. Feel free to size up/down if you so chose.

This BOM will run from April 2006 through May 2007. This is how the schedule breaks down: =============================================================== April 2006 - March 2007: Monthly blocks April 2007: Completing the Top (setting, sashing, borders, etc.) May 2007: Completing the Quilt (quilting, binding, labeling, etc.) - Done!

that rates the level of difficulty of her block patterns. One pin blocks are fairly simple and they increase in difficulty as the number of pins increase. I will start with one pin blocks and increase our difficulty as we go so that we are challenged, but not overwhelmed! I also consider myself a fairly novice quilter, and these will all be blocks I would be willing to try (well, maybe not the appliqué). Most of the blocks with only have three colors to them; however, some of them may have four.

Finished blocks can be seen at

Dee and Mayrd,

I saw that post and that is what made me scroll up and see if I had it saved, the post where she said she would post them, but I did not see that all the links were in the bottom of the email. These last few weeks I haven't been the sharpest knife in the drawer, but then I am not sure I ever have been. :)

Thanks for drawing this to my attention. I am not sleeping and I seem to be missing a lot of things.

Jacqueline who now has all the patterns copied.

Dannielle, I just maded a major mistake and went to my yahoo mail and found a bunch of spam that has been let through the spam filters, nothing unusual, but I normally read the topics too and just as I was deleting it and reporting it to yahoo for spam, I saw the BOM line in it. I have written yahoo and told them of my mistake so they don't ban you or anything but who knows if they read it.

I am truly sorry,

I've got an even grosser story. A new Olive Garden restaurant had just opened up about an hour away from here. On my first visit, we were being "entertained" while waiting in the lobby by a chef lady who was using a pasta machine to make spaghetti. She obviously had a very bad cold, as her nose was running like a faucet. She kept using her hands to wipe her nose, then would use her hands to pull the spaghetti out of the pasta maker. At first I wasn't sure I had seen what I thought I saw. Then I realized that all of the folks who were waiting to be seated were starring at her in disbelief. She wiped her runny nose over and over again with her bare hands while pulling the spaghetti out.

I ordered ravioli and filled out the guest questionaire with the date and time of this spectacle with the description of the woman chef. I never heard back from them. I also told my waitress, and the person who was greeting the diners, and anyone else who would listen. If she would do this in front of a dozen customers, makes me shudder to think what she would do if no one was looking. She didn't look like a kid off the street who wouldn't have known better, she was a grown, well-groomed adult. YUCKY!!

No problem. I'm sure it won't cause any issues. If it does, you can just pay me back with ten fat quarters! :-)

I have always said that when we eat out we are taking a huge chance with our lives. Just think of those that rarely ever wash their hands after a trip to the bathroom. I had a friend recently that said she had heptitis and had no idea where she got it. I said I would bet money if I were a betting person that it came from eating out.

Jacqueline who eats out only when she has to, but admits she would like to do so more often.
