September BOM!

While I have a moment of breathing room, and I'm thinking about it, I thought I'd put them up!

September's patterns are at the end of the message...

Enjoy!

Posting for Danielle:

How this BOM works is I will post block patterns each month near the beginning of each month. One is pieced, one appliqu=E9 and one paper pieced. It is up to you which one (or ones) you would like to do. You will work at your own pace over the course of each month. You keep your blocks. You do not mail them to me. At the end of the year you will have twelve blocks to set into a quilt. You keep the quilt. You do not mail it to me (unless you really feel the need to give me this gift!). You will then have your very own 2006-2007 RCTQ BOM quilt. When I announce a month's block patterns, I will also include the previous months' as well so if you decide to join along the way you will have all the blocks. Pieced blocks and paper pieced blocks will be 12" in size whenever possible and appliqu=E9 blocks will be whatever I can find that is available. Feel free to size up/down if you so chose.

This BOM will run from April 2006 through May 2007. This is how the schedule breaks down: =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D April 2006 - March 2007: Monthly blocks April 2007: Completing the Top (setting, sashing, borders, etc.) May 2007: Completing the Quilt (quilting, binding, labeling, etc.) - Done!

that rates the level of difficulty of her block patterns. One pin blocks are fairly simple and they increase in difficulty as the number of pins increase. I will start with one pin blocks and increase our difficulty as we go so that we are challenged, but not overwhelmed! I also consider myself a fairly novice quilter, and these will all be blocks I would be willing to try (well, maybe not the appliqu=E9). Most of the blocks with only have three colors to them; however, some of them may have four.

Finished blocks can be seen at

OK I may have been here almost a month now but what is a BOM? Oh I bet it is a block of the month, am I right, does it cost anything to join in, what if something happens and I can't do one or get behind or for some odd reason have to quit, say my dad gets worse?

You are right... BOM is block of the month.

Each person does their own thing. In their own fabrics. In their own time. They don't send or receive anything. The patterns (traditional pieced, appliqué and paper pieced). You can do all... some or any combination. No penalties for not finishing if life interrupts. It is a "cyber" group project in that pictures are shared and conversations are shared... and in the end you have a quilt that commemorates your 2006-07 participation in RCTQ.

If you scroll down in the posts.... you can see the links to all previous BOMS for the year. So if you have the time and the inclination ... you can join in at any time!

Hope that makes sense!

Thank you Cappy! I'm glad I put you in charge since I didn't even realize it was the beginning of the month!!! Where has the time gone? I really do appreciate your help in getting these things posted for me for the past couple of months!

DS is doing well, gaining weight and strength every day! He's only been home a week, and I love every second of it, even though I think DD wishes I would take him back to the hospital!
