We received word yesterday that Dave's uncle died in Omaha. The funeral will be Saturday. We are leaving this morning and driving across I-80. Won't really have time to meet anyone from RCTQ.
Since Dave will want a rest this afternoon we will stop at a quilt shop somewhere around Des Moines. If he isn't too tired we will not stop until Winterset. I have always wanted to visit the Fons and Porter store there. He naps in the car while I shop. This is our usual mode of travel. We will be staying at a Hampton Inn in Omaha. If someone is real close they could leave a message at the hotel and maybe we could meet for breakfast early Saturday morning.
Saturday night we will stay with his cousins in Woodward, Iowa and drive home on Sunday.
This will not be a sad gathering as the uncle was 89 years old and had not known anyone in many months. It will a celebration of his active life.
I am abandoning house guests here in Wheaton. Fortunately they had plans to meet friends for dinner tonight. My son will be home Saturday and can entertain them. They will leave on Sunday before we return.
If any important items are posted during the next three days will someone please email me privately. I won't have time to read all posts on Monday as I hit the ground running at the start of the week.
