How sweet! What size is it, Mary?
Thanks.
Thanks. It's 2 inches finished.
So pretty, Mary. Well done. Now - just a few more and you will have enough for a 1/12 scale, dolls house size actual quilt!! Go for it >g< . In message , maryd writes
heh, heh....... Be careful there, Mary. You're going to become addicted.

Oh! Oh! That's what I need! How many, Pat?

Aim for near enough 6" x 8" (which would be 6ft x 8ft in real size world). So, if you did 4 x 6 blocks with a border, you'll be fine. Mine fits a double dolls' house bed. Just think that each 1" equals a foot, and you can make it whatever size doll bed you have.
I did a one inch log cabin (by FPP) and set it in sunshine and shadows fashion. It's quite sweet, even though my fabric choice was bad. I'll pass on what I did wrong: when looking at fabric for real miniaturisation, you must have tone on tone or really small scale. I thought mine were small scale, but the red had bits of blue and yellow on it which came into the supposed to be red strips. To gauge this - every quarter of an inch of your fabric should look just the same. This is equivalent to saying that every three inches of normal scaled fabric should look the same.
Have fun. Use a 1/8" binding - single (it's not going to get any wear to speak of!!) - cut 5/8" if you're feeling brave! 3/4" if not. . In message , "Karen, Queen of Squishies" writes
Oops! Sorry Karen, I gave you 1" block details, I've just realised. For 2" blocks, you just need 3 across and 4 down with no border. . In message , "Karen, Queen of Squishies" writes
Okay, thanks! That scale dollhouse we made DGD last year needs some quilts this year. And beds too, actually. Where do people order 1:12 scale furniture?

Both towns that we are closest to have dolls' house shops, amazingly! Any dolls' house supplier would, I'm sure, have the furniture too. I have never tried online, as we have them to hand, but I'm sure there must be places 'out there'!. I think the 'funnest' things are the bathrooms >g< . maybe one day.
I have become addicted to paper piecing. I'm anxiously awaiting the CD I ordered from Carol Doak. I plan to make a quilt in blues for my niece who was accepted into the PhD program to become a pharmacist.
Karen, I have a number of books on 1:12 dollhouse furniture and the names of some online places.... have company right now, but will dig them out next week and see what I have. My DH gave me a dollhouse kit about 10 years or so ago and I got most of the furniture made, but haven't put the house together yet (been busy quilting!) DH said it was for my "second childhood"

Judy, that would be great, thank you so much! Here is a link to the one we made for our granddaughter
