What I've Been Doing...

I liked making the table runner so well, that I thought I'd try another one. This time, I used a pattern from a book I have, TIS THE SEASON by Letiticia Hutchings. The Poinsettia Elegance tablerunner, to be exact.

Except I did it in fall colors, and didn't do any applique. If you click on my Webshots addy, then click on MORE QUILTS, you can see it.

Hi Merry! It looks fabulous! You mentioned the backing, is it basted yet? I couldn't see a thing on it! How are you going to bind it, if you are? I think a knife edge finish would look great on it. Congratulations on getting another done. It looks great with that beautiful crystal bowl.

Hullo Elena (me again!!) What is a knife-edge finish, please? I have never come across the term. I love finding new ways to finish quilts. . In article , Elena writes

Elena, believe it or not, the instructions said to "birth" it! So I did. It is backed and batted and the edges are finished. I can leave it as is, or quilt it later, if I wish. I'm still debating whether to applique some leaves on the creamy tan part on each end.

It was super easy to do - all squares, then birthed, clipped corners, finished the open edge and done!

I believe it is when the front and the back are turned under and stitched together. There is no binding attached.

Thanks Cheri - I know of the technique, but hadn't heard it called that. Good to know. . In article , Walt & Cheri Carroll writes
