Wheeeee (early Christmas present to myself)

It got here today, exactly 7 calendar days after ordering, shipped all the way from Japan. I ordered four half-yard cuts from Fabrictales.com (NAYY) and it's here. Ok, so I paid $10 for shipping, but it arrived by registered mail and the fabric is so dreamy, so fine. I'm just sitting here drooling and wishing Christmas was over so I can make somethign just for me. I love, love, love this fabric.

Oh dear!

The fabrics are lovely - but this is a source for my longed for Japanese quilting books and magazines. This could have serious implications for my budget!!

I'm not sure whether to thank you or not (well, yes - TVM :-)) )

I got the Nihonbashi on Red and Landscape in Green from the Japanese Motifs section and Happi Court and Lantern on Natural and Auspicious Clouds on Dark Red -- both from the Traditional Patterns.

I love this website. The service is very good and the selection is unique. I only let myself visit here on rare occasion. Otherwise I'm afraid we'd end up living on the street and eating what we could find under mossy rocks. ;) Seriously, it's a great site. I just love the items they have available.

Sunny,

My doctor is fluent in 7 different languages, he wanted to be a UN Interpreter but became a doctor instead, he can read Japanese, write it and speak it so you want his email address?

I would love his email address. Please warn him that an insane quilter woman may be contacting him to ask for help ordering fabric online from Japan.

He is suppose to call me tomorrow I will email it to you when he does and if I am correct that is one of his languages, after I posted this I got to thinking it might be Chinese, I know he is fluent in one or the other, plus Russian, French, Spanish, German and of course English and that leaves 1 more but what it is, I am not sure.

No problems, Jacqueline, Don't worry. If he speaks Chinese then just congratulate him on having such an impressive brain and let it go. LOL. Thanks for even thinking about me. I'm sure I will find another way to go about ordering from that website. Nothing succeeds like a determined quilter. ;)

Hugs, Sunny

Oh Sunny, he didn't call me today and I could not remember what I was to call him for when he got home. Darn, will take care of it tomorrow.

Sunny, I had to talk to him today because my blood glucose dropped to

42 last night and that is not good. Anyway he said he use to be able to speak, write and read Japanese, but it had been so long that he was afraid he would be wrong. Said it is not a pretty language and makes absolutely no sense so once he became a doctor he just didn't work with it anymore. Now he did say he could help you if it was German, Russian, Spanish or French for sure, and of course English but that one he just has not kept up with.

Sorry, I tried,

Jacqueline

Thanks Jacqueline, I'm pretty sure I have enough fabric just now without rushing for a Japanese translator LOL. And unfortunately I don't need any help in the least when ordering in English. I do appreciate you thinking of me and asking your doctor. I'm impressed with his language abilities, and if I ever find a wonderful Russian fabric store, I know just where to go.

Sunny, He can speak Russian because he tried to use that as an excuse to quit piano lessons as a child, said he couldn't understand the teacher. Trust me he took lessons just before I did from the same teacher, I mean as in his 30 minutes was just before my 30 minutes and I didn't have a problem understanding her, but he hated the piano although he could be a concert pianist, but because he complained he couldn't understand her, his dad made him take Russian from her and that is how he learned the love of different languages. Doctors like him are hard to come by too. He has given me his home phone number, his cell phone and also his office extension and if I ever need anything all I have to do is pick up the phone and call him. He stayed on the phone with me one night for over 2 hours because I wouldn't go to the ER and my blood sugar had dropped to down in the

30's and he stayed on the phone until it came back to a normal number. He has also told me that if Dad should get sick he will come to the house to see him, if needed. It is wonderful having a doctor that you grew up with, we lived in the same neighborhood. I lived below the piano teacher, he lived above her. We have a new doctor coming to town in May, and his mother and I are best friends, so soon we will have a total of two doctors and I am close to both of them, that should help matters a whole lot.

Jacquel>Thanks Jacqueline,
