Hi ladies, I'm planning to make my brother a couch quilt for Christmas made of cream colored minkee on both sides, thin batting in the middle, lightly quilted with an all over design of circles or criss-crossed lines. (This was by request). I'd also like to throw in two pillows to go with it, small (12 inch or so) with minkee on one side and a quilt block on the other. I have a great big stack of white-on-white and cream-on-white (COW, as jeanne taught me yesterday!) fabric that I'd like to use, but I'm having trouble coming up with a design that will look nice with barely any contrast. I could do a log cabin with the whiter fabs on one side and cream on the other, but I don't know if the contrast will be great enough to really "work." I also was considering just sewing together a bunch of 3 inch squares of each fabric, to give it a real patchy look and capture a variety of the whites and creams (this would help match the blanket to the couch, which is also white, so quite possibly a completely different cream/white). help! What block would look nice in just whites and creams?
thanks in advance! Lynn
