Why does the needle not thread and seems to be hitting the edge of the bobbin case on my Bernina 1010?

I wouldn't know what is happening, but the first thing I would recommend is putting in a new needle.

Does anyone know why the needle won't thread and seems to be hitting the edge of the bobbin case on my old Bernina 1010

I used to have an older Singer that did something like that so I got out the manual and looked at it page by page as I checked the machine until I saw what I thought the problem was and adjusted it. Hope this helps Barbara in FL
