We have discussed this in here from time to time and many have tried it with GREAT results!!!
The Power Layouts idea was born from CM, in a way to get as many pictures as possible mounted and put into a album as fat as possible. They REALLY do have some good ideas!!
Anyhow you do not need anything fancy to put the planned pages in. I use a two gallon zip lock bag, or one of those many organizer envelopes you can buy to STORE(?) paper in.
You gather pix that you want to scrap. get the paper you want to use for background, matting, etc. If there is a conflict Or indecision of what paper I want to use or color, I put ALL of them in. You also get any stickers, headers, fibers, whatever else you have the idea to put on the page.
Just because you put the stuff with the pix, or the paper, does not mean you have to use it!! I also find that often times I did not have enough to go on the page. The ideal way to put all of the stuff for each page is in a separate folder, pocket, or in a divider like CM has or whatever, as long as all the things you want are together. I put mine in a large bag, separated by pieces of cardboard that comes with packets of paper, from the lss in the bottom of their bins, etc. It works GREAT for me!
YES, sometimes it does take a bit of time to put together all that you would or want to put on a page. Iff you have a bunch of paper that you bought for some specicific subject or group of pictures, or vice versa this is a good way to put them together in a spot until you have the time to actaully sit and scarp it!!
Another plus to this 'system', if you go to a crop, or a CLASS at your LSS, all you need to put in a SMALLER bag (ha ha! as if ANYONE IN HERE would do that - LOL!) is the tools that you may need to put the page(s) together. Just basic tools like a cutter, scissors, adhesive and writing tools. I scrap my page and if I want something with eyelets on it or some punches, like letters, I wait until I get home or go back to it later. I often do the same with the journaling, especially if I want to do it on the 'puter. I just put a little sticky tag (post it note) on the page with the pertinent info to journal.
I hope that this helps clarify it some for those in the "want to know" and inspire others to possibly try or think about it, especially wth the holidays coming up and ALL our time becomes more hectic!! Using this system I can scrap anywhere from 2 to 10 pages in an hour depending on the complexity of the page and how much crap, ERR, embellishments I want to put on the page!!
