And now it's time for ADVENTURES AT MICHAEL'S!!!!!

I picked up a calendar of events at Michael's the other day, and didn't look at it again until last night when I noticed they were having a day crop today for 6 hours for only 5 buckaroos!! Maya had preschool today, so I decided to go and work on her 5X7 baby album and her paper sack album and I packed up all the stuff I needed and I was good to go.

Got there just in time. There were only 2 other ladies there, and the lady 'teaching' some techniques, etc. The store had made available a bunch of sizzix dies, and gave an additional

10% discount for purchasing scrapbook supplies during the crop. The teacher even gave all three of us a gift of about 30-40 patterned pages as an appreciation for being there! I went shopping and found a lot more stuff I really didn't need but had to have (y'all know how that goes! ;-) and got to work uninterrupted, which doesn't happen every day, you know.

Too kewl. :-)

BUT, WAIT! There's MORE! (As they say, LOL.)

Right after we got back from lunch, we're tooling along, when suddenly, we hear a bunch of thunder overhead and BANG! Out go the lights. The crop/classroom was plunged into complete darkness as it was way in the back of the store and there were no windows. The teacher herded us all up front with a flashlight where we could see through all the glass windows that the rain was pelting down cats and dogs. It cleared up for a minute or so, then started pouring down again for a good 15-20 minutes. There was some minor flooding in the parking lot that finally drained after awhile.

Absolutely no electricity anywhere in the place. We waited about

45 minutes and the manager finally said we'll just have to wait it out...so the teacher led us back with the flashlight to pack up our stuff. No sooner did everyone get loaded up, the lights came back on! Go figure. We had heard a transformer go a little while before (there's a bunch by this particular store) so we really weren't expecting that to happen. The teacher kept apologizing but it wasn't her fault. She's going to let us make up the final few hours whenever we want, we just call her and arrange a time of our choosing, so that's cool.

So anyway, I'm almost finished with Maya's baby 5X7 album, I'm going to scan them in a minute and add them to my yahoo album. I'll post the link when I'm done.

I also got several tags and pages done in the paper sack album "Maya's Hair Styles" and I'll scan those too.

To top all of this excitement off, I woke up this morning with a totally blood red right eye, because a vessel had burst, and my eye doctor thought I might be having a stroke or something, but fortunately that doesn't seem to be the case...I go back for a followup on Saturday morning, so say an extra prayer for me if you will.

Thanks! Carolye in busy, busy Texas :-)
