use the worm removal tool first... if it says no files removed.. then you don't have it.. if it says 1 of anything removed.. you HAD it (after running this you don't)... then download the appropriate patch according to what operating system you have..

xp home is the 32 bit one... in case you need to know...

run the patch.. you should be fine after that.....

Thanks. I ran the 64 bit one like a knucklehead. star2fire

suddenly im glad im too poor to have xp lol

do you at least have 2000??? 98 is virus bait...

this particular one isn't affecting 98... some worms won't show up on nortons at times tho either.... if you have a broadband connection, I'd advise getting a firewall (email me if you need one)

I thought I'd read it wasn't affecting 98 at the moment. Did I get wrong info? YIKES! I was and am still worried if it does come after those of us with 98. I try to keep the antivirus stuff up to date as best I can.DH usually lets me know what is up.

I know that... I'm an admin... just saying that nortons doesn't catch all trojans or worms... sometimes they do catch them but that isn't their job.. they are for virus's only... there are seperate trojan scans out there.. if people with broadband connections would be responsible and have properly administrated firewalls, this wouldn't be an issue..unfortunately, most people on AOL or other "simplified" ISP's are trying to get people on broadband without thinking of the implications of it. Broadband is great, but you need to know how to protect yourself with it. Its like leaving the front door to your house open all the time and not knowing how to shut the door and deadbolt it.

My next buy is a firewall... any info on them is greatly appreciated. I've given up trying to email you directly

Just lill ole ME here :)

Tracy (some say its poo but i kinda likes it >.< )

yup, that is one I recommend and send to friends.. I myself prefer atguard, but its a bit more complex... I do more than surf the internet so I needed it but zone alarm is pretty good....

Does not effect 98, 85 and ME. There are security ports that run on NT,

2000, and XP for network> do you at least have 2000??? 98 is virus bait... >

Really???

*giggles*
