butterfly card

Im looking for some ideas for a card with a butterfly of some sort, my best friend just loves butterflies and scrapbooking so I want to make her a birthday card. If you have any patterns or links for me it would really help me out.

Thanks, Tammie

Something I did a few years ago when shaker boxes were the rage, I made my OWN pattern butterfly and made it into a shaker box. Thry turned out really pretty.

You could get a die cut or even find a nice sized one and cut out holes in the wings an do the same thing, then afix it to a pretty flowered card.

Craft TV weekly had a video called "Butterflies are Free" hosted by Michael Strong.

If this link doesn't work look in the archive under May 25th. He cut butterfly shapes from magazine paper. Using a butterfly stamp, he embossed a top layer. He then added tabs so that the wings pop up. Take a look, they are beautiful. There is a butterfly template to help create the tabs in the template download. Good luck!

I have a half a stencil of a butterfly that I used and flipped it over to make a full butterfly.
