Attention one and all - Whatcha all lookin' for???

Okay to make it easy for moi and others who are thinking of sending out some squishies, shall we do a list again? Peoples favourites change from time to time so call it a.......a...... an update! LOL

I'll start okay? Should anyone be remotely wanting to squish me, or do a trade I'm looking for fabric that has anything to do with cars, auto accessories, oil cans, car tools, go karts, heck even motor bikes would work. And I only need scrappy bits - about 7" squares.

Now that DH and DD1 are into go karting they've both decided they want a lap quilt (DH said he wanted a chair quilt, I said a lap quilt? No a chair one. What's a chair quilt? When I'm sitting in the chair it goes over my knees. So a lap quilt? Yeah - DOH!!)

Am willing to trade almost anything, and am always happy to squish!

Bring on the requests.....

Anything!!! If anyone ever squished me (happened once before and I was soooo thrilled), I'd be happy with anything. Although I'm not big on themed fabrics, anything else is always appreciated. I remember once a secret swap saw me receiving a packet of repros. I never liked repros. I said I'd never ever do anything with repros. Well, when someone gives you something that's not in your comfort zone, you're forced to work with it. And you know what? I made a sampler quilt (which I also said I'd never do) with those repros and it is one of my all time favourite quilts. I love, love, love it.

) So, I learned that the best squishies are the ones that make you think about how you are going to use them. ;-)

I will follow. I am looking for purples, golds, and greens for a butterfly quilt I am planning for next year. That's right, next year. My good friend, who happens to be my neighbor, want a butterfly quilt for her mom. That is why I asked about the patterns the other day. By the way, thanks everyone who answered that post. Ooh, how fun. I love to read these and go raid my stash for people.

I would love some fabric with hot air balloons. I keep eyeing s light blue background one, all brightly colored and fun...and today I saw a batik one. I don't know how much longer I can resist!

I could use strips (2 inches I think ) of non-floral, beigy fabrics. They'll be combined with a scrumptious stack of darker browns for my "coffee" quilt someday.

I think my next adventure will be to start on batiks... green, purple, orange...I can't wait! Trying to hold out until my next quilt shop road trip in October.

I better stop before I start shopping online!

Actually, I'm not looking for much of anything right now. I know you will find it hard to believe, but suddenly I have Southwest fabric coming out of my ---(you can fill in the blanks, lol). I am "trying" to make myself like green, but I'm not having good luck with that endeavor.

WAAAA!!!! I'm looking for time to work on quilts. Between job and DS and family moving in, I don't have time. And when I do have time, my space at the table is being used. But this too shall pass and one day I will get back to quilting like I was a year ago.

Wellllll, as if I haven't whined about this enough lately..... LOL

ORANGES - LOL, I am still collecting oranges for my best friend, orangaholic! As well as New England themed fabric, Denmark themed, lighthouses, lobsters, Boston, Maine, fall leaves, windmills, wooden shoes, etc. Colorado themes, skiing, sledding, running, baseball, chickadees, moose.

Blues - I am designing a Mosaic scrap quilt for our new nautical themed bedroom. Indigos, all shades of blues and a few reds for the centers of the mosaics (for a touch of accent color)

Blue/Green/Orange - my son chose this color scheme for his new bedroom in the new house. The upper half of the walls will be primary green, the lower half primary blue and will be seperated by a 5" wide primary orange stripe. I'd like to make him a Brick Wall type quilt with bricks in these colors.

Minkee - two babies on the way in the family, nuff said there

Tropical prints - to fill out more in the Margaritaville lap quilt I am making for DH's best friend/lawyer.

I guess it would be safer to say - we are renovating a house for move in and hubby won't let me spend any money on fabric - I'll take whatever I can beg! LOL

I almost hate to say it lol

with all the talk of jeans quilts...I think I would like to do one of these in a picnic quilt size...

I saw on simply Quilts the author of "divide and conqoure...dang it I can't spell that word - hope spell check gets it lol do a quilt one block at a time and then connect them with this fabric strip method - looked cool...

So that's one thing I would like to do..

Then I think I am going to try one of those crooked cabin quilts from Pat Sloan's new book...maybe Christmas themed - really novelties for the center of the blocks....like snowmen and santas etc..

guess that's about it..

of course I would never "look a gift squishie in the mouth" if ya know what I mean lol

Roberta, (1) I can spell conquer. It's aluminimumumum that I don't know where to stop in. And (2) for a jeans qiult - alll you have to do is mention it and perhaps do some yard sales. I told my friends, enimies and nieghbors that I needed ratty jeans for a quilt. I went to just one big yard sale. The results of that little effort? 74 pairs of jeans. Mailing jeans is right costly, you may have to do that on you own but it is really easy. Polly

I was having such a good time teasing Roberta, I forgot to answer the question. I am looking for Hurricane Katrina to go down a big black hole right where she is. The industries here have called in all their employees to tie down and put the shields up. Please, I hope she will not come hurt anyone. Pensacola is already beaten to pieces and New Orleans is dangerously below sea level. Yessssss! I am looking for a hurricane size big black hole. Polly

DH and I were JUST talking about Katrina and I thought of you. Believe me Polly, if I could FedEx you a big black hurricane size hole - it's on it's way right now!

Good luck and prayers, Hugs, Tina

Currently seeking jewel tones. Scraps or FQ's or what-have-you. These are for a quilt for ME for my bedroom.

The usual scraps that are suitable for 3/4" strips as well.

Any kind of lime green as well.

More hours in the day, more energy, somebody trustworthy, that i know to watch my children for a day so that i can get more work home, my children to both be "typical" so that I don't keep stressing over their health, DH to not have a broken back (min is huritng from hefting boxes)...oh wait, you were talking quilt related stuff, weren't you .

Well, Don't really need anything at this point, though I'm open to ideas as to what I can do to make our bedroom look more regal/romantic (colorwaise, you dirty minds!!). DH actually picked out the fabric for the curtains, and it turns out they are the exact color of the current paint. I want to repaint antique gold....need something to tie this all together. Of course, if you want to make me a housewarming HUG, that would be great because I *still* haven't excavated everything in the sewing room....though I did manage to find the machines....everything else has decided it wants to stay hidden for a bit.

Me, too Polly!! My folks live in Pensacola and they are getting really tired of Hurricanes!! They are all just halfway geting back to normal after Ivan and here comes Katrina!! I just heard on the news that "they" are saying it might go in between Gulfport and New Orleans--hope that isn't near you, Polly. If so, batten down the hatches and stay safe, you hear!!!

If you squish someone from your stash - does that mean they have been "squashed"? And how would you pronounce that? ;-)
