RCTQ-BOM Catch Up

Hooray! I'm finally caught up. I finished a block yesterday, showed it to DH and said "This is the block of the month." Then it occurred to me..... I think this was the block for July! Logged back on to the group, pulled up the last post for the BOM....sure enough - I never even printed August! Fortunately, it was an easy block and I whipped it out today!

Care to look?

You're sewing up a storm, Tina! What an exciting collection of fabrics - really evocative of the wild. . In message , Tina writes

Love the July fabric - I do go for gold and its reminiscent of African tribal robes and gold jewellery.

Then Africa print keeps the African wildlife theme started in February.

Its going to be a stunning quilt.

Thank you so much ladies - you are all such great supporters and motivators!

This RCTQ-BOM has been so much fun for me and it has been educational as well. Anyone who is new to quilting, I would highly recommend it. I had seen BOM's on quilt shops online, but I couldn't imagine why anyone would pay to participate in one.

By doing the RCTQ-BOM, it has given me a chance to learn a LOT. It kind of makes you sew blocks that you might not otherwise have chosen on your own. I am seeing, in hindsight, how fabrics go together, and don't go together, LOL. Looking back, there are a couple of blocks I would definitely do differently and with different fabric combinations than those I originally chose, etc.

It really is a lot of fun - and by choosing the colors/theme I chose - I will still use the quilt as a throw in our new Serengeti living room

- and it will be special to me because it was my first B.O.M. - it was my first RCTQ group participation project - it will be the first quilt that I have made for me/us! Oh well, I'm rambling.....

So anyway, thank you with all my heart Melissa for setting this up - I hope RCTQ will do another one sometime after this one is over! And thank you to all you wonderful RCTQ'ers who encourage, support, motivate and teach each other. I am always grateful for you wonderful people!

Hugs, Tina
