Life so often gets in the way.... it's been especially busy and hectic for us the past month or so now. We're slowly getting back into the swing of things again.
Last Saturday night I organised a special surprise for DH. Well, to give you a bit of background... when we were married (almost 5yrs ago) we booked and paid for a limousine to pick us up from the Reception and take us to our wedding night accomodation, the limo never arrived, so we never did get our ride in the limo. I received a nice little carers bonus from the govt, so I arranged for a limo to pick us up from my Mums place and take us to a nice restaurant for dinner and bring us home again. Well, it was a hoot!! I told DH that Mum had invited us to a Dinner Party and she wanted everyone to dress accordingly as she wanted to take some family pics.... lol, it was so good. When we arrived at Mums, she had even set up the table with the good china plates and crystal glasswear!! She took a couple of photo's of us, and was really getting into the spirit of my little "white lie". When the limo arrived the chauffeur came to the door and DH was so surprised and happy. We had a bottle of champagne provided for us to drink on the way to the restaurant. We had a glorious night, I can't wait to scrap our pics and share with you all.
Tomorrow we're throwing a birthday party for our little one, well he's 10yrs next tuesday, so he's not quite so little anymore.... lol. But it's all systems go, busy busy!! It's a superhero/cartoon theme party, and T is going as Batman!! I'll be sure to take lots of pics in the hope of finding some time to scrap once school goes back for next term. I survived the first week of the school holidays, now I just have to get through one more!!! lol. We were lucky enough to have respite for today and tonight, so it gave DH and I time to shop for T's birthday presents and get things for his party. Well.... my feet are SO sore, we were walking around ALL day.... I must have trekked up some miles that's for sure.... Then we got home only to realise that we had to get the food for the party too. So we had dinner and went into our local supermarket (which is 24hr luckily) and got everything (and more) that we needed.
I've spent most of recent times in lurk mode, by the time I actually get to sit at the computer, I'm too tired to even read let alone post anything!!
Catching up on a bit though... Happy Birthday to everyone I've missed, RJ (congrats on the car too - way to go girl!), Yanya, Melissa, Linda M (sorry if I've missed anyone).
Prayers said for all, in particular for April for the loss of her father, for Kate, I sure hope that things pick up for you with work real soon, and also RJ I pray that your DH finds work soon too.
Michelle, what a lucky find you had finding those precious tapes... that would've certainly made your day!! And Dave, I too have wondered where Judy, Sabrina and Marilyn have been, haven't seen any of them post for some time now.
It's so good to see some new people posting too - I look forward to getting to know you all when things settle here for me and I can once again join in regularly.
Anyway, I've rambled and I'm sure I've doubled up on things I've already responded to, but oh well.... can you tell I'm tired?? I really have to get off to bed, I can feel my head drooping further and further with each key stroke.... lol
